IELTS Speaking Part 2 can feel difficult because students must speak for up to two minutes about one topic. The best way to succeed is to use a simple structure.
Start by introducing the topic directly. Then answer the cue card points one by one. Add personal details, examples, and reasons to make your answer sound natural.
Do not try to memorize full answers. Instead, prepare flexible vocabulary and practice different topics. This helps you speak more naturally during the real exam.
Fluency is important, but clarity is also important. Speak at a natural speed and avoid long silent pauses. If you need time to think, use natural phrases like “That is an interesting question” or “I would say that…”
Recording yourself is one of the best ways to improve. Listen to your answer and check pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and idea development.
